I use to believe that being depressed was something that you had to pull yourself out of until I started reading up on it and realized that sometimes you just need to give in and get help or at least find ways to help yourself through it.       That is what so many people believe, because unfortunately when feeling that way, others will say “just get over it”. I am sure many of us can relate to that statement.

    It’s great to know there are alternatives to (expensive) prescription drugs. They might even be safer too! From time to time I feel anxious about things and life in general and will work on getting my serotonin level up. I’ll try the food approach first. I love to snack on nuts and dairy products anyway so I’m good to go! I’ve read that nuts have other health benefits as well. As word spreads of this, maybe I ought to consider buying stock in Planters!

  4. Hi Jennifer just wondering if you have any information or if you know if there is a correlation between dopamine and compulsive gambling I’m beginning to think I’m developing a gambling problem

      I haven’t studied the correlation between dopamine levels and gambling, however my first thoughts were, that they probably do. The most important issue here is, if you feel you are developing a gambling problem…PLEASE…seek help right now. I feel like you already are, by asking me, so I am very thankful that you are taking steps.

      I have experienced first hand, living with a gambler and it is unhappy for all. I couldn’t do anything to help them as they wouldn’t help themself.
