Anxiety Treatments – Medications or Natural?
What is the best anxiety disorder treatment? Well that depends on many factors. What type of anxiety disorder you have and how severe your anxiety attacks or symptoms are. There are a lot of different options that are available to you. There are prescriptive or natural. I prefer the natural anxiety treatments for relief.
When it comes to finding the right treatment, what is the cause of your anxiety? If you suffer with PTSD you will need a treatment different to that of someone with a social anxiety disorder.
So if you don’t really know, take the time to determine what the cause of your anxiety is.
This way your anxiety is going to be dealt with at the root source rather than just using a treatment that is only going to cover up your symptoms.
Anxiety Medications
Your doctor may prescribe an anxiety medication, but be warned they do come with negative side effects. They may also take you a long time to come off them if you so desire at a later time.
Herbal Anxiety Supplements
There are also many vitamins and minerals and herbal supplements that people take in preference to medications. Natural anxiety supplements, such as Provanax. These supplements help balance your hormone levels, such as your dopamine and serotonin levels. They can help with anxiety, stress and depression symptoms.
Alternative Anxiety Disorder Treatments
Yoga – Yoga has also proven to work well for calming anxiety. Many people prefer to stick with treatment methods such as yoga, as exercise is excellent for easing anxiety symptoms.
Yoga calms the mind and exercises the body and assists with deep breathing techniques which can be very handy in combating anxiety attacks. It is also an activity that people of any age can partake in.
Meditation – Meditation is one natural solution that really is a beautiful treatment. If you can learn to meditate you will find inner peace and serenity. It can help at any time of the day or night.
Acupuncture – This is another alternative treatment that helps with anxiety. I personally have not used this treatment but know of others that have. They have found it has helped with regular visits to their acupuncturist.
Self-Help Programs – There are also self help programs that show you how to control your anxiety. You can learn from someone just like yourself…someone who has ‘been there and done that’.
Therapy
People with an anxiety disorder can also work with a therapist. A therapist will use cognitive behavioral therapy. It is a positive form of treatment because anxiety sufferers have someone professional to talk to and they of course can provide expert advice. If you have a therapist but don’t feel like you are receiving the help you need…find another one!
Don’t feel like you are stuck with them. Many don’t really understand what it is like to have anxiety!
