Reduce Stress and Overcome Anxiety

When you’re trying to deal with stress, it can feel as if the world is falling down around your shoulders. Often, this can be hard enough to deal with on it’s own, but when you are suffering from anxiety and panic attacks, stress can be the last thing you need in your life.

It’s time to take control of your world again and stop the anxiety and panic attacks that plague your daily life by taking control of the stress that you’re forced to deal with day after day.

It is thought that stress can be a trigger to many episodes, so the theory is that you need to do away with the stress in your life in order to stop panic and anxiety attacks.

It’s not stress alone, the cause of anxiety has more to do with the way you deal with stressful situations in your life. Some people deal with stress just fine. It “rolls off their backs”, so to speak, while others who are prone to anxiety take that stress and hold in.

Are You Prone To Anxiety and Panic Attacks?

When people who are prone to anxiety have too much stress in their lives, their bodies never really get to decompress, which means that their adrenaline is constantly pumping into their bodies. The overflow of adrenaline, which is ordinarily good for us, can cause big problems in the body if we aren’t able to make it stop when we need it to. This is where anxiety and panic attacks come from and the best way to stop the adrenaline in the body is to find ways to reduce the amount of stress we feel in our daily lives.

So, in order to stop anxiety and panic attacks, we have to learn how to stop stress from building up in our lives. The question for many is how they can possibly do this and it really is a good question. De-stressing takes practice and sometimes needs to be done several times a day in order to achieve the desired results, but with time, you will find that you suffer from less and less stress.

Deep Breathing Exercises

You should start with deep breathing exercises. This is a great natural treatment for anxiety and panic attacks. Find a quiet place, sit down and close your eyes. Take a deep, slow inhale while counting to 10. On the exhale, count backwards from 10 to one. Repeat this several times while you clear your mind of everything except something pleasant. Stop when you feel your blood pressure come down.

Another way to eliminate stress to effectively stop anxiety and panic attacks is to practice feeling grateful. For this you will also need a quiet place and you should be able to lie down. Cross your arms over your chest or just rest your hand on your heart. Then, with your eyes closed, think of something for which you are grateful. Continue thinking of this thing, person or place and how it makes you feel. Visualize it and let yourself feel the way you feel when you are around it.

While these are just a couple of ways to reduce the amount of stress, these two techniques, when followed faithfully and done as many times daily as you may need can help you to stop anxiety and panic attacks. So, take the time to de-stress once in a while and see how much better you feel from now on. Your life is waiting for you.
