Knowing What Stress and Depression Can Do To Your Body

On some level, many of us know what stress and depression can do to our bodies, but we don’t seem to be able to reduce the feelings of stress, depression and anxiety we feel. Sure, we can tell that we are stressed because of the way we’re eating, sleeping or reacting to other people. Many of us can feel the familiar tension headache coming or the burning shoulders, but do many of us really equate this to having any long term effects?

Is it possible that so many of us are so stressed that we cannot even bear to face the long term effects of this stress on our bodies? Not only is it possible, but it’s likely.

For instance, did you know that long periods of stress and depression can actually make it hard or impossible for a woman to become pregnant? This in turn can make them feel even more unhappy.

Not only that but your body can go through many other changes as well from the negative aspects and you might not even realize it. Therefore it is important to find the relief you need to make your body healthy.

For instance, did you know that many people who have high stress levels also have higher incidences of stroke and heart attacks? It is thought that this is due to an increased blood pressure that is experienced when we are under extreme amounts of stress.

Plus, prolonged stress can cause us to suffer from problems such as heart disease, which can have very negative effects on the body.

People who are under extreme amounts of stress also find that they have a harder time fighting bugs such as the cold or flu and they also find that they suffer from body aches and have a higher level of depression than people who are not stressed. Stress and depression can cause many people to struggle with anxiety problems and has often been linked to many sleeping disorders.

Many Disorders You May Experience

The digestive system doesn’t function as well as it should when we are stressed, which can lead to diarrhea, constipation and upset stomachs, as well as indigestion and heartburn. Many people who are under lots of stress find that they suffer from acid reflux, as well.

In addition to a stomach problem, many people who have problems such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Fibromyalgia find that their symptoms become much worse when they are under extreme stress.

If these aren’t enough reasons to encourage you to take control of your stress and depression, consider this: people who cannot effectively manage their stress levels and fight depression, find that they are less effective in almost all areas of their lives, not just work or at home.

So, if you want to be truly in control and able to deal with anything, you need to learn how you can better attack your stress levels and take control of your feelings. Finding the relief or treatment you need is important to live a healthier and happier life…especially if you find a natural way to help you manage the problem.
