Know What Is Causing Your Anxiety Disorder

So what is causing your anxiety? Many experts agree that if you can get to the source of your anxiety and break the cycle of thinking that you will be able to begin to fight your anxiety disorder and the anxiety attacks that come with it. Getting to the source of your anxiety might be tough, however, consider things that make you nervous or upset.

Are there times in your life where you feel like your are going to go crazy with your thoughts and feelings? For instance, do you panic every time someone you don’t know drives by your house? Did you have a time when you were trying to hide from someone? When you are fighting this type of anxiety, it’s usually a good idea to watch the person or problem, ‘drive away’ so that you know they had nothing to do with you or your past.

When you identify the things that make you nervous, you can begin to think back to what might have caused that reaction in the first place. Then you can take control of your anxiety by changing the way you think about events in your life. If you generally worry about everything, consider writing down your worries and tackling the problems one by one. You will begin to feel more in control of your situation and start feeling a little more free each day.

For instance, if you worry that your car will break down and you won’t have the money to fix it, the best thing to do is get it into the shop as soon as you can. You’ll know your car is okay. Then, the second thing to do is begin building an emergency fund in case your car breaks down. You will have combated two of the main things that worry you and probably will help to offset some of your anxiety attacks in the process. This sounds simple, and in reality your problem seems much larger than that. Try to sit down and calmly work through the problem or situation.

Anxiety is natural, but anxiety attacks are not. By getting to what really causes you to feel anxious, you can effectively treat your condition and stop suffering from anxiety attacks for good.
