Anxiety depression is something that can happen to everyone, but there are people who seem to be more susceptible to this particular condition.

According to studies, the individuals who are more likely to succumb to anxiety depression are those who are frequently subjected to stressful situations on a day to day basis. Also, those who have the tendency to think negatively instead of focusing on the positive things in life are more likely to suffer from anxiety depression as well.

Most cases of anxiety depression are triggered by the individual’s own attitude or way of thinking. In other words, this disorder is normally not a result of outside factors but of the person’s own thoughts and feelings about themselves. They are constantly belittling themselves for not meeting self-imposed goals, and are often dissatisfied with their efforts. Because of this, their self-esteem eventually disintegrates, sending them into a downward spiral of anxiety depression.

These same studies also show that the people who are chronically anxious or depressed have certain characteristics in common.

  • A feeling of inadequacy and low self-esteem

Some people who are suffering from this condition will not show any outward signs of this anxiety disorder. In fact, they may be able to go on with their daily lives as if nothing is wrong. These are the very mild cases. But for the more severe cases, the disorder can become so disruptive to person’s daily life, rendering them incapable of making even the simplest decisions without going into a bout of deep depression. The good news is that regardless of how serious your condition is, there are several treatments that can be used to help you conquer this disorder.

Before trying to get any depression and anxiety treatment, however, it is important to figure out for sure if this is really the conditions you are suffering from. One of the most common tell-tale signs of this condition is the inability to express oneself openly, for fear that people will judge them or look at them unfavorably. Unreasonably high expectations of oneself is also another common symptom of this psychological disorder.

If left untreated for a long time, depression and anxiety depression can lead to more serious complications, and can even trigger suicidal tendencies in the most severe cases. In order to avoid these effects, you should try to get professional help as soon as possible.
