Aromatherapy is not only helpful but one of my favorite ways to feel relaxed. We all know therapy helps calm the nerves…so to does aroma-therapy. Aromatherapy is an alternative therapy that has been in use for centuries as a remedy for various health problems, not just stress.

It is a completely natural method for reducing your stress levels. There are no chemicals to be ingested and there are no harmful substances that are applied to your body.

If you are unfamiliar with the concept of aromatherapy for stress relief, you might find it hard to believe that the simple odor of a few essential oils can eliminate stress.

Essential Oils for Stress Relief

  • Lavender oil is one of the most popular essential oils used in aromatherapy for relieving stress.
  • There are also many other oils that can produce an equally excellent result such as chamomile, avocado, sage and jojoba.

In order to experience stress relief from these oils, you need to use them in just the right amounts and in the manner that is recommended by the aromatherapy experts.

Essential Oils and Aromatherapy Massages

Essential oils can be used in many ways. The most popular methods include:

  • dropping a few drops into a warm bath
  • inhaling the scent of the oils as an air freshener
  • burning aromatherapy candles
  • aromatherapy massages.

An aromatherapy massage for relieving stress is probably the ultimate treatment for winding down after a long and tiring day. However we can’t all enjoy that luxury! The scent of the aromatherapy essential oils can relax your mind and body, while the massage can soothe your muscles and help you get a good night’s sleep in preparation of another new stressful day.

So find some lovely essential oils and set up your diffuser while you ask your special someone to give you a lovely massage…hmm…that would certainly soothe the stress levels to an all time low, don’t you think? 🙂

You may be asked to reciprocate, but then it becomes a real win-win situation. It is a relaxing atmosphere to live in when you are both stress free.
